I love both the Camry and ES, but there are differences in the build quality, refinement, and sound insulation within the cabin. However, from the consensus I've heard, Toyota did a solid job with the noise reduction (from both wind and road), especially in the XSE trim. No doubt this generation of Camry will lure a lot of people from the economical and luxury sedan market (maybe even some potential SUV buyers as well, given the amount of room and trunk space it has), I'm quite impressed with it (though I'm sad about the V6 and naturally aspirated engines being precluded from future lineups). I have no doubts that this platform will be very reliable, Toyota has perfected the hybrid platform. My expectations for this generation honestly weren't that high, but Toyota really outdid themselves with the amount of effort they put into it.

I test drove the 25 camry THEN the 24 ESh. Just bought the ESh. I couldn't fit in the back of the Camry and I thought the build quality felt cheap. I like the backseats fold down but I don't use my sedan as a truck. Sound system was subpar. Interior plastic was loose like it was a power wheels. Ride was zippy but bumpy. My ESh just feels smooth, and I LOVE driving it. The 25 Camry is a Jack of all trades, master of none -- a good car for MOST, perhaps the best value pick of all the sedans, but it isn't a luxury car. Neither is the accord for that matter.

This is the best review of Camry I’ve seen yet Kirk and comparing it to an ES Lexus is especially timely and appropriate. Makes me wonder how good the next gen ES will be. Thank you for this my friend all the work you do!

Can't wait to see what Lexus does with the all new ES model 2026.

You can’t compare this to a Lexus ES, just because it’s a sedan with similar engine choices doesn’t mean it’s a Camry. The ES is a longer and bigger car with a much quieter interior and a smoother ride.

I think used ES300h with 10k-20k miles in the low to mid $30k range is still a better buy

8:24 Thank you for putting extra comments on the screen during the video. It’s very helpful for when you forgot something you wanted to say or misspoke.

It’s a pet peeve of mine when the car reviewer gets the information wrong. Which happens quite often. Especially on new car models.

Why nobody never mention an important difference between standard and premium brands: quality of the carpet. Premiums has thick high quality carpet even on trunk, meanwhile standard brands has cheap low quality lining... and for me this makes all the difference!

I own a 21 Camry SXE V6. 48, 000 miles and not a glitch. I don't know about the new Camry but my brother just traded his 23 Charger Scat Pack wide body for a Lexus IS500. There is no comparison. The charger is quicker off the line but the Lexus 5.0 screams. The build quality is impeccable.

Sharp looking sedan. This makes the Altima look really cheap in comparison.

I test drove both and let be say this, Camry is not Lexus. ES300H felt a lot better I terms of luxury, seat comfort, quietness, and overall level of refinement. In fact, the first thing I noticed was hard were the seats in the Camry. Honestly, for $42K I’d get a slightly used Lexus ES300h

The standard hybrid powertrain is a welcome addition to the Camry - the base 2.5L gas just feels a little rough and Toyota does hybrids so well it makes no sense not to go with the hybrid. Granted the ES would likely be even more refined to make up the price tag difference, but the Camry is the value king.

Toyota has moved up-market. Reliability has pushed their brand higher. They are separating themselves from Kia, Hyundai, and Honda. It is an interesting move as Lexus will also have to improve to keep selling in the premium category.

They are completely different tbh and the ES win all day everyday .

In terms of features, yes, the new Camry has just as much as the Lexus. But if you care about the badge and ultimate comfort and prestige feeling, then it’s always going to be Lexus. My 10-year-old ES 350 still feels soft, smooth and butter, compared to a Camry around the same age.

Baby did not wake up when you closed the hood. Sound insulation is good

Kirk, In select markets where it is available, I hear the Camry LE AWD is the one to get. The 2024 Camry may be the best one since the days of the double rear wiper Camry wagon 😉😉
