One major point everyone has overlooked is that by creating this LUT ecosystem, Panasonic is banking that it'll make new adapters flip more money towards the high-end product line. If a content creator buys this to start their Social Media content, and is using the LUTs, and at some point that person wants to up their game to a better, more professional body; the S5 II is the next move. Why? It makes editing easier and consistent. Thats my take on that.

Also, theyll closely watch the adaption of the LUTs snd it might trickle down the other bodies like the S1, etc.

You are so right about grip and it's not only ergonomics: I guess record limit also happens due to lack of a grip, Sony has a grip for a purpose, it takes battery and there is more space for heat management.

It's beyond comprehension: a camera that cannot be a real camera due to lack of a mechanical shutter: Night photos with dark bars (irrecoverable) and distortions of moving subjects because the electronic shutter is mediocre! A video mode that overheats and limits sequences of max 15 minutes with unpredictable cuts! A crude copy of film simulations that has nothing to do with the Art of Fujifilm. Can we really make fun of consumers who are not experts and who will buy this Lumix S9 with their eyes closed? When will there be a version without diaphragm adjustment to align with smartphones? They should also remove the SD card connection and limit its use to the small internal memory like a ‘carbon pass’! No mic jack, obviously. We have pushed the limits of ridiculousness and the worst thing is that some people will buy it because there are different colors^^

I’m looking at purchasing a new camera and getting into the system entirely and can’t decide between this s9, Fuji xt-30ii, XT50, Fuji XS20 or as used Sony A7C. I would mainly be using it for travel and landscapes

The S9 is a byproduct of Japanese corporate culture and groupthink. The S9 has no singular vision, but it is the result of a series of compromises that pleases nobody. It's not a good street camera, because it has no mechanical shutter, flash or flip up screen. And it's not a good vlog camera, because it has a 15minute 4k record limit. Even my iPhone can record longer than that. Vloggers or content creators will choose the DJI OSMO Pocket over the S9. Serious video creators will choose the Sony, Nikon or Lumix S5ii or any other camera released in past 5 years over this. Street photographers will choose Fujifilm, Ricoh GR, or Nikon ZF over this. People with a tight budget will choose a second hand mirrorless camera over this.

I find Nikon Snapbridge to be very reliable for both my Z6 and my Z8. Fair play, it USED to be shit. But for the 1-2 years or so, reliable in my experience. Lacking in video features comparatively, but I only need photo downloads really. That being said, I can wirelessly download RAW video from the Z8. Can't play it on the phone, but it does it, lol.

No EVF, no. headphone jack, no mechanical shutter, only 15 minute recording time, no hot shoe, one card slot, uncomfortable to hold, micro HDMI. You've critiqued cameras with more features, but for some reason this one passes with less? 13:04 unmatched in the camera space? the Canon R8 is the same price.
