I never knew you could jump the walls. I always just hopped the fence.

I remember figuring out that the different sides had different cutscenes. I later found out about jumping over the front gate from the legend of zelda manga. I now only do the front gate since that's the only one you can't repeatedly do. All the other side you can go back into the ranch and do again.

Love the OOT, MM and glitch / speed run content :)

You can jump over the side fences at any point, as a kid I would keep re-entering the rach to jump them over and over.

I always hopped the gate by Ingo. I’ve replayed OoT likely over 100 times in my life (I didn’t have many games as a kid) and have done 100% the game in as many different and out of order ways as possible, including using randomized rom hacks. It was until I was in my late 20s did I realize you could even jump over the other fences which I did by accident. Literally every play through I lined it up perfectly to jump that stupid gate. After I realized I could do this it suddenly made sense why the cutscene of her jumping the fence was so weird.

I never considered jumping the front gate. I’ll have to give that a go my next play through.

Fun fact the only one time cutscene is jumping over Ingo...the other cutscenes will always play if you leave those other ways

Glad im not the only one here who thought as a kid that you had to jump the ingo gate and couldn't jump the other fences

I remember playing this on emulator as a kid using the "L to Levitate" cheat and found that regardless of whether or not you're on Epona, if you make contact with the loading zone of the fences (which i did by floating over it), it will play that cutscene with Link getting Epona.

I am curious though if you could, say for example, bomb hover over the fences and not have to race Ingo to get Epona.

Wow! I didn't know you could jump the gate!

Wait, you could jump out at other places? I just went for Ingo's gate.

I always jumped the gate to intentionally kick Ingo since as a kid I hated him for being mean to Malon and Talon and siding with Ganondorf.

I never knew you could jump the walls. I only ever hopped the fence

jumping the gate and kicking him in the head was how my brain computed such a dramatic personality shift after you make off with epona.

I KNEW I wasn't crazy, I remember as a kid jumping over the gate, but I could never do it again. So I kept jumping over the walls as an adult

The fence that Ingo closes is finnicky.
Usually just op to break the good ol ankles 😅

The first time I played OoT (GC version) I didn't even realize Epona would be able to jump those other fences and had her jump over the gate instead. For some reason though that _didn't_ give me that cutscene but rather the ordinary one and after the cutscene ended I had been warped to the "standard" location. So either I somehow managed to cause a glitch when riding around the whole area first or it's different on the GameCube

I always hopped the fence. I thought that was what your were supposed to do.

I never knew it was different. I would always run around to get up to speed so i could jump out the east side.
