1 person in dead in NC from listeria outbreak

One person in North Carolina has died from a listeria outbreak linked to frozen supplemental shakes, the Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday.

DHHS confirmed two cases in the state so far.

Nationwide, there have been at least 12 deaths as part of an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to the frozen supplemental shakes, the US Food and Drug Administration said Monday.
