The coronavirus crisis hit great powers just as hard and unexpected as smaller players on the geopolitical field. And it brought out the best and worst in them: be it political rivalry and scientific cooperation or compassion and economic competition.

But what will be the lasting consequences of the pandemic? Will a new world order born out of these turbulent times?

Or exactly the opposite, are we going back to the pre-pandemic power dynamic? What will be the result of the US vs. China clash? Can coronavirus break the European Union? How can a country like Hungary act? We've invited one the world’s foremost geopolitical thinkers, the Founder and Chairman of Geopolitical Futures George Friedman and Balázs Orbán, Minister of State at Prime Minister’s Office to discuss these questions with you.

The conversation will be hosted by Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, founder of Brain Bar.

I liked the way George Friedman said EU is just a treaty pretends to be a empire. I don’t know someone here like watching both George and Peter who are excellent at Geopolitical

Balazs the fact that Hungary is trying to open channels with the neighboring countries is actually a remarkable thing. It doesn't necessarily means that you are doing wright with every neighboring country only because you have positive feedback from Serbia and Slovakia. The history you have with România is much more complicated than with the other countries. The relationships are so flammable that it needs only a small spark. Everytime Orban will show the map of big Hungary we will go nuts maybe more than Serbia or Slovakia.

If nothing else please go and watch Peter Zeihan on YouTube. But as men interested in politics, you ought to read his books.

George, what do you recommend to read on the topic of what it was like for people during the great depression?

In my county of 42, 000 in western NC USA, 6 have died!
The victims of the China flu...3 had stage 4 cancer, 2 were over 70 years old and had diabetes, the last one I don't know!
Over 100 people die in my county from the flu every year, mostly elderly!

I'd prefer to have politicians manage coronavirus. Experts are not elected and thus are not accountable to the people. Politicians are. Politicians should have experts inform their decisions, but the politicians should be making the decisions.

We haven’t just withdrawn the workforce we’ve withdrawn social interaction. Dating, Parties, Dancing, Church, this is how people meet, have relationships, make babies.

I worry about the effect of that on young people almost moreso than the workforce part.

35:19 the first time I see someone admiting that politicans must lie. Good reasons or not, I am not sure if anyone can handle going that dark path...

I think Balazs Orban was completely underqualified for this dialogue, I am not sure if his father is Victor Orban the Prime Minister, but, the show definitely suffered from his participation, I think there were hundreds of better qualified individuals that could have elevated this dialogue. Someone trying to earn points with the Orban government. Nepotism is alive and well.

George Friedman and Peter Zeihan have an average IQ of 180.
I encourage everyone to read both their works.

Fascinating discussion! Of course George Friedman is brilliant (and provocative) whether you agree with him or not. But I disagree America (and especially Americans) "dont care".

It is naive to think economic and security interests can be divorced easily. Countries tend not to seek deep business relationship with countries they think they will be at war with.

Mr. George Friedman, your answers to your questions will be revealed in the book I previously informed you about titled U. S. RIOT COMMISSION REPORT: Report of the National Advisory Commission On Civil Disorders Special Introduction By Tom Wicker of The New York Times. Once, you read this book you'll be able to connect the dots.

George, such a wise man trying to convince that the lies' strategy worked. Come on! Trump and Bolsonaro followed it and let US and Brazil in the world rank of death and poor conduction of the crise. No excuse! Without trust, social cohesion falls apart.
