I am a Biotech student and watched this video just to see what people say about my choice of study.
It's important to say that Biotechnology is not only based on Biology.
In case you like Biology a lot, Biotechnology also features a heavy amount of Math, Chemistry and physical rules to chemistry as well. It's quite interdisciplinary. If you like studying and learning, it's the Major for you.

This video gives a totally wrong definition of biotechnology. Genetic modification of plants (Green Biotechnology) is the least important biotech branch regarding to the market share. Way more important is for example the red (pharmaceutical) biotechnology. E.g. Insulin is produced biotechnologically.

French biotech engineer here. we don't make corn resistant to insect, but bayer/monsanto make corn glyphosate resistant seed. The effect on the environment is not the same
The main advantage of biotech is to create biomolecules that chimie can't really produce (such as insulin, hormons etc)

And btw, music + sfx is TOO LOUD
