Roderick is now officially the best waifu in berserk

I’m just hoping for Luca to see Casca and orchestrate a prison break. It’s the only way I see Casca getting free, since Griffith wouldn’t even know who Luca is and wouldn’t be prepared for her.

Don't know if you missed it or not, but Casca cut off a guard's arm. While she's clearly under some kind of trance, she's still at least more Casca than she was during the majority of the series.

For me everything that comes now after Miura's passing is a bonus. And so far Mori is doing a good job

For the Morda/Molda thing you took notice of, its a very common thing for translators to fight if something should be an L or an R when translating from Japanese, as both letters are "the same" in Japanese

8:00 regarding the "reaching out to her."
He would totally do that. During the eclipse he did exactly that in almost the same situation while he was pinned down by a demon. Although a lot more ferociously back then.

I find it interesting Guts can only cut a single strand of hair on Griffiths head and we’ve seen every attack thrown his way bend around him or simply miss entirely, the Skull Knight couldn’t connect a blow, but Rickert actually managed to land a slap that connected to his face.

It’s the most substantial piece of damage he’s taken since the Eclipse.

I personally think the child plays a role in all of this. Griffith keeps Casca near him so when he transforms into the child, so he doesn't keep going away. I think the child will help Casca get over a lot of her trauma and potentially be able to see Guts again without having a ptsd attack. I do also think she will escape and possibly end up meeting with Luca within Falconia then possibly Rickert? A lot of possibilities as to what can happen!

With regards to the story, as far as I understand it Miura spent literal decades meeting up with with the author who took over (one of his best friends iirc) to discuss plot ideas for their respective stories over drinks, so as far as I'm concerned it's all Miura's notes, even if not officially.

That intro about being a generous reader is so true. I appreciate you saying it because I had to have that same talk with myself when I got into these latest chapters

Seeing Guts reach out for Casca does feel right, He had finally achieved his goal of restoring her mind, he was able to finally relax and get true rest. Only for it to be ripped from his grasps, so him reaching out in despair seems truly fitting.

I don't think Casca's mind control lasting long. We've already seen that she's strong enough to break free. I think what we'll see next is Casca getting smart about her escape instead of her forcing her way out. I had a being epiphany Casca is literally in tge perfect position to manipulate Griffith.

I took the foreboding words of the mad dog of "your flesh restrains you" more as a way to suggest Guts must leave his humanity, his care for his own body, behind; in a similar fashion as Skull Knight did, locking himself up forever in his armor in order to fight for an eternity if needed.

Also yeah, I do feel like Casca is in a position where she must conquer her trauma by herself in order to escape Griffith's trance, which could be really interesting; especially if Luca appears somewhere in that process to help her.

All in all, I really like Berserk post-Miura. It's as close as the real thing as we could've gotten, and you can tell the people behind really 'get it.' I'm excited to see where the story goes from this VERY DARK point it's in atm.

I took it as Griffith stopping Guts' attack due to Guts' battle rage and that plays a part in Guts' breakdown at the end of these chapters.

the panel of Guts curled up on the floor in 372 is one of the most haunting moments I’ve felt in any fiction. The one character that has fought through this much and never gave up being so close to doing so hurt so much in a good way

My personal Theory is that Casca being placed within Falconia is Griffith's fatal flaw.

I think the panel of Casca caring for the children is very intentional as it was Queen Charlotte's wish to care for the orphan's and therefore makes it likely that the two will run into eachother. Charlotte and the midland knight leaders are one of two groups in falconia that know Casca. The other being Luca and the other women from the conviction arc who saw "Elaine".

Charlotte will probably not be convinced of any of Griffiths wrong doing but she could kickstart Casca's ability to regain control of herself. Luca on the other hand will most certainly help Casca if given the chance maybe even hiding her from griffiths forces calling back to the conviction arc but this time she gets to meet Casca rather than elaine and be able to tell her about rickert and the kushan.

my ideal hope for the rest of the story which wont happen is that zodd helps Casca escape after she has regained control. she hides with Luca who tells her of Rickert and the Kushan. Casca leaves to find Guts and the others. Meanwhile i think Guts and the rest of the party will be taken by the Kushan. Casca will reunite with them and be the one to rescue guts from the beast of darkness rather than Casca being saved from Griffith. We know that Griffith is looking for something ti the east and it would make sense if it was the Kushan Stronghold Rickert was told about. this would be one of the last vesitges of power that could oppose Griffith similar to elfhelm and be a conveinient meeting place for all the central forces of the story and hopefully where Griffith meets his end.

I'm just hoping that its Casca that ultimately leads to Griffith's downfall as she deserves it more than anyone i think.

Thanks for such a great video and cant wait for the Vinland saga one!

I find it so fascinating that it's specifically Farnese who grounds Schierke, because even though Griffith is super powerful, she already unlearned all the Holy See's bs and knows how to resist that charisma/draw

I feel that this will be the most defining moment for both Guts and the Plot. So far the entire story has been about Humanity vs Monstrosity and it seems like Guts will have to finally choose once and for all between staying Human or falling into Monstrosity to take back what he loves most.

While the art style is going to take a lot of getting used to for me, these chapters perfectly capture the shock and hopeless despair that a lot of the fans and the studio must have felt after Miura's passing, while I have had some gripes with Mori's work in the past and will remain skeptical I think this is going to be closer to a Sanderson's Wheel of Time continuation than a Brian Herbert's Dune continuation

I do think the only reason Rickert managed to slap Griffith is because Griffith was genuinely not expecting that. He got caught off guard by Rickert. I'm probably dead wrong though.
