Phil thanks so much for talking about the philosophical construct of Calvinism in determinism. More non-Calvinists need to point this out to Calvinists because they simply don't believe it. They believe all of Calvinism comes from the Scriptures. I did this with one guy and he told me I didn't understand Calvinism. However, I did get him to concede that determinism is philosophy. I suggested if he didn't believe in determinism then he might not even be a Calvinist. I will continue to comment on videos who drill down Calvinism to it's logical conclusions with my comment about the philosophical construct of Calvinism because this is what we should do when we're faced with any type of philosophy. I am going to purchase your book and I know that I will enjoy every single minute of it. I love how you could see the struggle in Calvin with his own doctrines. Sometimes I tell people to read the apostle Paul writings and learn about who Paul was. Blessings to both you and Leighton!!!

This has been so enlightening...Thank you both. I do have 1 question. If we believe that Calvinism is not true, why do you not believe those who teach it are false teachers? Having come out of Calvinist theology, I'm finding it hard to listen to anything any of the prominent teachers, (MacArthur, Sproul, Piper, Chandler, etc.) if their theology of Salvation is so wrong. Is that not the most important aspect of Christianity?

Calvinists love to say their systematic gives them such assurance but the problem is that Calvinists can never actually be sure that they are not just determined to fall away because they were never actually elect.

New Testament is full of exhortations to be obedient. It seems counter intuitive then, that we are created to either be elect or not.
