I've had a lot of you tell me that you don't know what your passion actually is. In a system where our source of income is made to be our identity, it's often hard to answer the question of what you would do if money wasn't a factor. In this video, I discuss why so many people struggle to find a passion, and give you some tips on how you can.

I started with an accounting major. Then I realized that even though I was very organized and good with numbers, it was boring af lol.

So then I switched to environmental science. I'm passionate about the environment and thought it would be a good fit. Then it became numbers, and when I asked my professor what a 'day in the life' of an environmental scientist was like, I realized that was also something I didn't want to do.

I had to think about what brought me REAL, LASTING joy... I noticed that when I cook, I get into "the zone". I get genuinely excited to experiment with flavors, I love cooking shows, and when I was a waitress I'd look at the chefs in the kitchen with envy. Even though starting out is a garbage salary, I didn't care after being so miserable trying to get through my university classes about things I didn't give a shit about lol.

I'm almost 29. And even after going through years of military service to pay for college and then a couple years more in uni, I said F*UCK IT. I wanna do what I love, regardless of how much it pays!

I start culinary school in July, and I plan to open my own restaurant, because that's what I REALLY want to do 💕👩🏽‍🍳

I love learning new things even at school I think the worst part that puts me of school is the testing, its stress that is not needed

Love this topic! From personal experience, I’ve learned that I’m much happier if I don’t tie my passion to my career. The last time I monetized my hobby/interest, I got super depressed & burnt out, and had no healthy outlet anymore to decompress. So I think for me, it’s no longer important to be “passionate” in a career. Sure, it should interest me and align with my values, but it doesn’t have to be the love of my life either.

When creating streams of income, they should resonate with you to a certain extent. Don't sell out even if you can make a ton of money. For an example... don't do dropshipping if you are against consumerism. Most people leave jobs because they don't want to be a sellout. Don't start a business that will cause you to sell out. Be unique. Be yourself.

I'm glad someone is talking about this. I've always felt like a loser because I didn't know what I wanted to do when I was 18....or 25...or 30. I am just now finding myself and more people need to know that this is OKAY.

If money wasn't a factor, I would sleep and work out and then go back to sleep

Lynette always manages to put my scattered & undeveloped thoughts into coherent, well-spoken words. Your message is like medicine to me 🥺

I would reclaim my life because money is a form of energy in this world. It takes up mental space, makes us enslaved to others, particularly corporations that have far from our best interests in mind.

I feel so pressured and insecure everytime someone asks me "where do you work right now?". It's usually the first thing that they ask of me, and I feel embarrassed to say, "I don't have a job, I'm 'trying' to be a youtuber". One thing I really love if money wasn't an issue is to perform, to sing, to dance, on stage anywhere. I also want to lead people and just join different organizations, and just attend seminars to learn. I also want to travel with my family and friends without worrying about money. I feel alive everytime I do these things, but lately because of that one factor, which is my current "career path" it's giving me a lot of anxiety and frustration. *sigh

I love that you discuss these topics, you're killing it Lynette! If money wasn't a factor, I'd just travel and live a nomad life. Or just settle on a property in the middle of nowhere lol.

Ever since I was little I have had multiple passions. (I'm 15) and I just love learning new things so if we lived in a non capitalist society I would be so happy. I really have always loved singing but now I thin I'm more passionate about dancing. My goal in life is to hopeful make multiple streams passive of income so that I can just do the things I'm passionate about and be with the people I love. I want to spend my time on things and people I love. I think life is supposed to be fun but sadly people suck that out of it. Edit: Thank You Lynette for being a youtuber your an inspiration of mine

I love to see everyone evolving and understanding that conformity isn't the norm. I am a life purpose coach and one thing I speak about with my clients is when it comes to passion it isn't always something that comes innately. Passion can be cultivated by exploring different things which can lead to our purpose. Passion also doesn't mean its something we are going to enjoy every single day. The biggest thing that keeps us going is the WHY. Passion is subject to change because we change and evolve. The more flexible we are with exploration and trying new things the more we give ourselves better opportunities at finding different things to be passionate about. I absolutely love your positivity. Such a beauty ❤

my passion is singing and making music, writing books, those sorts of things, but i have no idea what i'm supposed to major in. it's hard not to stress over it especially when so many people keep asking me what i wanna do. like i just wanna make music for the rest of my life :/

I found my purpose after being injured and hitting burnout. Started our market farm and love it because we help people get great healthy food. Don't think about money because it comes & Go's. our business main purpose is to help people not focus on money and will come. Thank you

I've found your videos really comforting recently as I am not happy in life and how life is for everyone. I hate 9-5 work and this past yeah of working from home has been the only good thing about it. Soon they're forcing us back into the office while most other departments can have a choice or preference.

If money wasn’t a factor I would be and certified doula/midwife AND a nutrition genomist in which you study how food affects each persons individual genetics. But unfortunately since I have to put myself through school at the moment I can only choose one which is the genomist.
