That's the best trick I know. I can tell you that you can get quite popular by singers when you help them whit the screws on the micstands.

hmmm, never crossed my mind to do that, nice one, I usually went with option A, cutting my fingers.

I usually knock it with another piece of hardware (cymbal arm, hi-hat clutch works too).

really? ive used that for a long time. its a really good trick.

Its important that your hands are much closer to each other if you leave so much space between them the stick tend to bend a little. And it such an awfull feeling to play with just bent sticks, even if its just a small bend. Its almost imposible to try and bend the stick back perfectly

Wow... no sarcasm this is one of the most awesome drumming tips i've heard in a long time! Happens to me from time to time.. Some jackasses don't know when it's tight enough ;-)
