I used to obsess over the "best smartphone camera", but it's getting to the point with these phones that it just doesn't matter. They are all so close these days. You do a great job of picking out the differences, but I'm not sure I'd even notice otherwise.

All cameras are so good that you have to pixel peep to see the differences. Each phone managed to take the best shot at times, but it has to be said that with the S23 Ultra, Samsung made a big improvement in image stabilisation and seems to be leading there, even if slightly.

Xiaomi 13 Pro video color and details + Stability of S23 Ultra would be the best combination. And still images, kudos to xiaomi for massively improving their cameras. No more flagship but only on SOC, they are now making a real flagship with flagship grade cameras. Would love to go back to Xiaomi this year!

S23 Ultra all the way, and there is no comparison with the stabilization with Xiaomi and Iphone, the S23 is amazing all around.
There will never be 1 perfect phone and camera that takes every photo and video perfect in every environment!

The S23 Ultra wins in sound and stabilization. The latter is actually underestimated - I love visiting autoshows and my prior experience with my old Galaxy S9 always showed every 5~6 shots being blurred due to hand shaking during the event, but this year with my new S23U not a SINGLE picture I've taken was ever blurry.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro looks the most natural while the iPhone tends to be the best "processed" with skin tones and exposure/noise reduction.

Remember, smaller sensors (S23 & iPh) will always compensate for lack of detail by sharpening, whereas the 13 Pro's 1" sensor can easily render it. With a little bit more software tweaks and updates, the Xiaomi has the potential to decimate the other two. Love to see the scenario with 13 Ultra in picture!

They are all excellent phone cameras and at this point, the best you could do is just nitpick. The S23U however has that no contest advantage on 3x, 10x and 8K video. S23U also is cheaper than the iPhone and with no ugly notch.

Hello Chris, last year just around this time I had bought the Exynos S22 Ultra. After about a year of owning it I traded it with my carrier to get the S23 Ultra instead, reason being that the performance on the S22 Ultra being *terrible* (microstutters and frame drops everywhere while navigating the UI, felt like using a 150 euro phone) and the battery life being a lot to be desired. I had heard the performance being sub par but I legitimately did not think that would translate into non gaming day to day performance. The strangest part about it was that apart from forum and reddit posts, none had talked about it or seemed to experience it; almost like being gaslit to believing that the performance was good and I was expecting too much. The exception to that though was you, literally the only YouTuber who actually experienced it as well as made a video on it.Everyone else was raving about the performance, even the ones who had the exynos variant.Alas I bought the phone before your video(my old one broke) otherwise I would have reconsidered it.

With the snapdragon being available now on every S23 series phone, what is your experience now? Personally the difference is literally *night and day* performance is top notch, 0 slow downs(even in light mode!) and the battery endurance is excellent. Would be nice to have your input on the situation. Thanks for the hard work you put into each videos.

You sold me on the Xiaomi 13 Pro! Just the fact that it isn't all so over-sharpened and over-processed compared to the other cameras makes it look to me like it might make the most useable video of the bunch. The others are great, but the over-sharpening and over-processing just bugs me. Now I just need to figure out if it's feasible to buy a Xiaomi in the USA... Lol

Overall for me is S23 ultra, then it depends: for more focused video taking person would be iphone and if photos then Xiaomi but still s23 ultra overall is better than both

Xiaomi is obviously most bad out of them. Freezes and bad stabilization. Also slow response on front camera. Other two are pretty equal.

I didn't regret getting the S23 Ultra but to be frank, I think it was the special deal I got through my bank that made me take the leap, 30% was just too good to pass up. I wish the main camera was like the Pixel, but I guess for that I should have kept the Pixel I had. Still, I feel I got a lot more of phone to mess about with now.
