About the "tweaking":
1) To "tweak" something means adjusting it
2) The size of thise tendrils was nevee specified, and the overall size if the worm wasn't either. Yes, there is the picture, but I always found it a bit misleading.

Edit: so obviously they ment "tweak" as In the second definitions of both the verb and noun, since the human body is a machine with whole systems in it and the human as a whole would be like a machine for the parasite (Neurax Worm) and the Neurax worm is obviously making to it's human host. So it's perfectly fine to say that the Neurax worm is making tweaks/tweaking it's host's brain/it's host so that the worm can control it better.
