THIS PRODUCT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED. It is flimsy, soft and NOT ridged as in this video. It does NOT stay supported in the ceiling joists.

Yes all joist bays are 16” on center. I had to resort to using support wires.

This product advertisement and video is NOT recommended

Should I apply two layers for more sound absorption?
Also, is it possible to apply rock wood over old fiberglass insulation to provide better sound dampening?

I can’t get SafeNSound to stay in the ceiling. Yes, my joists are 16” OC. The batts are soft and flimsy, unlike the R-15 ComfortBatt. Do I have to resort to insulation wires?

This Type of Rockwool is rubbish for sound-proofing. You have to use the dense type of Rockwool.
