I live 1800 miles from Prescott and have been there once. Great town and I would definitely add the Phippen Museum/Art & Heritage of the American West. I visited it and found it to be a great western art museum!

El Gato Azul is the best for tapas and a great menu...if you don't know what you want to eat...you'll find something! Bill's Grill and Bill's Pizza are both great!!

I love going to Lynx Lake & Granite dells for amazing hikes. Doing 100 hikes in Sedona each year I include these 2 on my list. Also Christmas in the center is fun. Hassayampa Inn has been a great stay when going to concerts in Prescott. Stayed here after Chris Botti concert & he stayed here too!! Always a fun time.

Prescott is our goto for a weekend place. It's usually about 10-15 degrees lower than the valley. Have only driven there 1 time for business. All the rest of the times we go through Wickenburg. Love that drive. The last time we drove through Skull Valley the general store was closed, disappointing but the drive is nice.

The fire in Yarnell was in Yarnell...it was 19 of the 20 Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished.

The Yarnell fire happened on A mountain made of granite not on Granite Mountain 2 different places. You can eat on Whiskey Row but don't miss out on the off the Row offerings as well. And if St. Micheals is booked try the Hassyhampa Inn 2 blocks away. Jersey Lilly is above the Palace, watch a local parade from the balcony. Buckys casino has the world's largest Gingerbread village every year, and some great food, some of the best views in town, no gambling require. Be careful climbing The Thumb Butte it goes from nice hike to danger be ready! You must eat at The Essence. Bear and Dragon. For mining stuff Jerome.
