I'm a CS Rep for the Dept of Veteran's affairs (VA), so I've heard practically every comment imaginable (some not imaginable...) over the past two years. We bought a old small 900 sqft house 10 years ago in Seattle based on 1 income we paid 248K; we did not have a car, that house was well under the median price, now the value is 700K, I remodeled that house myself, put about 80K in material. Our mortgage is at 2.625%.
We plan to sell in 9 year when we retired and move to Japan. I predict that the housing market will go down for at least next 3 to 4 years than plateau and go back up after.

Well Kristina, there's still some affordable properties but as you have stated in the past unless you're retired or slightly well off or better you're going to have to be able to work remotely or hyper commute.

I would never ever live in an HOA period. I did live in a HOA many years ago but i was a tensnt so it didn't bother me but as a home owner now, no HOA for me. Hate HOAs, what's the point owning a home when living under HOA dictatorship.

In 2010 every area went down. You just have to search the internet It keeps everything forever. It will also tell you that people who made the wrong call spent 8 to 10 years living in negative equity unable to escape their mortgage
