Romans 8: 28-30 Is a stronghold that many Calvinist use but what if it did not mean what they thought it meant. Take a listen and find out if how they interpret the verses is correct.

Very good teaching. You explained pretty good the whole "Ours is derived exegetically, unlike yours" stuff, and I'll definitely be revisiting the theology (again). :)

Another great video helping to explain a verse that is easily misread. 🤜🤛

I know the first time I read Leighton's book The Potters Promise I had to read that section like 3 times

Apollos.

Great explanation. Definitely a common verse that Calvinists think supports their view, but it doesn't.

That is what i get from the Golden chain as well.
It is being offered as evidence of the hope that we have. In that we know what God has done in the past with people He knew.

As opposed to referring to a group that no one can know the members of.

I have a question. I am a Provisionalist. BUT the Provisionalist theology only deals with Soteriology.
That is one of 10 in Systematic
Theology.

So, outside of Soteriology where do you turn?

Just so I understand, you're saying that because Paul didn't write "from before the foundation of the world", the phrase "those whom He foreknew" can't refer to a time before "those who love God"?

I am sorry and I appreciate your genuine love and effort but, You are now forcing your interpretation onto the text. I have spent 100's of hours listening to everything on this for @ 5 - 6 years and am only becoming more in support of the reformed view

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I read the transcript on this video as you were speaking on this verse, I as far as I remember, you did not deal with the last part of the verse, to them who are the called according to His purpose. There needs to be a discussion on the whole verse if you are going to use it to defend your point.

You said that you believe the Old Testament saints have been glorified. Be careful not to create a contradiction with other passages. 1 Corinthians 15 talks about the resurrection, both of Christ and of the saints. Christ, the firstborn among us, is risen. But since the last trumpet has not yet sounded, this indicates that the saints who have died are not yet glorified. All of the bodies of the Old Testament saints have been sown into corruption. At the last trumpet, they shall be raised to incorruption, which is glorification, the adoption, the redemption of our bodies, for which we eagerly await. There is harmony in Romans 8 and 1 Corinthians 15 on this, not contradiction. So, now what? That leaves us with seeing Romans 8:30 as a certainty we can look forward to, and that is why it is in the past tense, for emphasis.

The implications of Calvinism display an unjust God commanding the vast majority of mankind to "repent" to a God who has already rejected them, & believe a gospel that could NEVER save them, since Jesus NEVER made propitiation for their sin.

In other words, Calvinism has the God of TRUTH commanding the majority of mankind to believe a LIE.
