NASA Just Found Declassified Evidence of the Soviets Landing on Mars!

What many people don't even know is that the Soviet Union was the very first nation on this planet to put a spacecraft on Mars in 1971. NASA just found declassified evidence of this landing, which was kept secret from the world public for a long time.

But what were the Soviets doing on Mars, and why did they never talk about their discoveries? The answers to these questions are staggering and startling.

I have to call BS on most of your script. I'm 68 years old, and not only did I follow the Mars 3 events at the time -- in Aviation Week & Space Technology -- but I saw the partial image from the surface at the time, again in 1971, 52 years ago. The USSR did not bury the results of the flight. Plus, the imager on the Mars 3 lander scanned vertically, so the image doesn't show the Martian landscape. It shows a piece of the lander structure, the camera had not rotated far enough before contact was lost for its view to clear the antenna that blocked the first 10% or so of the image space. If you look at the Luna 9 panoramas of the lunar surface where it landed, you can see the same types of obstructions at the beginning of each pan. And Mars 3 had a lander that was almost identical in structure and function to they proved Luna bounce-down design.

I find it disturbing how many YouTube creators take the approach of "Hey, that was 50 years ago, no one is left alive who remembers it so I can say whatever I want to about it and no one can refute me, it's my reading of the histories against theirs." Sorry, people live longer than 25 years, ya know. And many members of your target audience have done more research into these subjects than you obviously want to bother with. Making up crap to try and get views is one of the ways the lowest forms of life get by, I guess.

After landing on Venus in 1970 it probably was quite easy to landing on Mars for the Russians, and quite obvious too if they were able to have that on Venus in that extreme environment… also much more sensible goal than “getting a man to the Moon at that time”.
