I have a troy bilt riding mower with a briggs and stratton OHV engine that is smoking. Lets see what's going on with this machine and replace the head gasket to get it running good again.
Best video yet well explained every detail needed, perfect

Another good repair Alex! That mower is super nice as well. The newer 31000 and 33000 series Briggs are horrible for head gaskets. So little material between the cylinder and valves!

You should be teaching at the local high school man so good at detailed instructions ! I've learned a bunch so thanks, hey who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks 🐶

Alex, you caught that at just the right time. It was only going to get worse from there. Nice job explaining the repair and the torque sequence. That looks to be a easy sell now! Briggs did a horrible engineering of that head to make the sealing surface so narrow their. You could just about make that a normal maintenance at a certain interval of hours. Stay cool buddy ! ✌🎥🇺🇸💰

I was using a brass wire wheel to clean them heads and blocks. Then I was showed how quick and easy they clean up with 100 grit sandpaper on a sanding block. I fill up the value cavity with carb cleaner to see if they leak. I don't have a leak down tester either. Another great job!

I don't know why Briggs And Stratton wouldn't redesign the cylinder head, good job on the repair

I bought the same mower used. Its seems good but its missing the air filter housing/cover so I dont have a part number to order it - dang it !!! You sold that one I bet ...

I've been replacing the aluminum pushrod with a steel one because of wear issues where it comes through the guide they are the same length and diameter

Briggs has a design flaw, a new head gasket will correct.

Poor design by briggs, needed a bolt there where it is blown.
