DIY Backyard Chicken Coop. The coop was built 3 years ago with the main 4"- 4" ash timber frame sitting on patio stones. They are 8' apart and the remaining framing is made from 2"- 4" ash timbers. All the ash timber was made on site with my Alaskan Chainsaw mill from Grandberg. 1"-12" pine boards for the coop area and 1"- 1" wire fencing for the remaining wall area's that runs 12" down and onto the ground. Sheet metal roofing with a 1/12 pitch screwed to the rafters with no strapping needed. Egg layers area is 8'-16' and the broiler area is 16'-16' with around a 7.25' ceiling. We have 28 egg layers on average and do 75 Broilers per year. I will get a video with the Broilers once we get them. Hope this was a helpful and enjoyable video. Thanks again for watching.
