My Nightmare Ram Upgrade

The laptop did not catch on fire, I represented it like that for the sake of entertainment, in reality the laptop did indeed get extremely warm and the fans ramped up insanely. Just like every other video on this channel, it is for the sake of entertainment, do not take it seriously.

It was probably the ram size that failed since the frequency would just downgrade to whatever your setup supports

i performed my first ever RAM upgrade when I was 11. I upgraded my computer from 512MB to 2GB. This was back in the day when a Pentium 4 was still a decently usable CPU and the computer I had at the time jaut happened to be a Pentium 4 Windows XP system. Of course the computer eventually got even less usable as I couldn't install Windows 10 on it, and Windows 7 was already a bit of a struggle to run on it, so i eventually had to do the inevitable thing and upgrade to a Dell Optiplex. I can't believe that a Pentium 4 lasted me from 2009 till 2018.

I did my first hard drive upgrade when my Toshiba Windows 8.1 laptop hard Drive died when I was 14. It went well though. I got another hdd instead of a ssd because I didn’t know I can use multiple brands of drives in the same computer at the time.

Think first time i did a ram upgrade was around 2015 had an amd a8 7650k so called ultra fast gaming pc that my parents got ripped off with had a single 8 gb stick of ddr3 ran somewhat ok especially for dumb 9-10yr old me but a few months later i learned about dual channel and overclocking and luckily my cousin had some scrap pc's and let me use the ram so that brought me up to 2 x 8gb sticks of ddr3 and i managed to overclock from 1600 to 2133 aswell as raise the igpu from 720mhz to 920mhz it was such a massive boost gta 4 went from 20-25 fps upto around 50 fps at 720p medium

i currently got 12 gigs on my lenovo laptop, however the stick i'm using is faulty and sometimes it reboots itself but i just bear with it idc, i have the older original one but its stored somewhere where it doesnt fill with dust

Oh same issue. I didn't know normal cpus that have U at the end. Only go upto 2667mhz... And to go higher needs a better cpu. Long story short i had a 4gb 2667

Bought 2 3200 8gb 3200mhzs thinking yeah huge upgrade. (so 16 gb in total)

But it turned out to be just 16 gbs running at 2667 not 3200.no option to change it as my cpu is just shite. Plus there's no difference between an 8gb 2667 and 16gb 2667...its almost the same performance. How do I know that?

I got the 8 gb ram sitcks 2 months apart. Caz of covid. So i ran it just with one 8gb for a while.

i have a hb prebuilt, and it's a ok pc besides the fact it doesn't give me a option to change ram speeds so 2133mhz for life, i tried to make it it's native ram speed which was a 2666 kit of ram i have put in that pc but i thought it was 3200mhz and it was bad it wouldn't boot anymore and i had to remove the bios battery, the first time i ever did that and it was sure a learning experience but at least 2133mhz 32gb isn't as bad as i thought compared to my 2014 dell laptop i had before that was chonky, it had the slowest 16gb ddr3 i have ever used and it wouldn't even charge and the trackpad was completely broken i couldn't even call it a laptop anymore it's more like a dell all in one in that state, i don't think i can ever go back to any laptop even if am sacrificing portability

The ram speeds would just default to the fastest speed no? That being 1400mhz in that case

1:40 thats what i was waiting for since i saw that you had an IdeaPad 3 I was just waiting for you to say 8gb.

Mine does go up to 2400Mhz, 4+8gb ddr4 (4gb soldered in) but mine is a bit newer so thats expected.
