Meteor Detections on our 3 GMN Raspberry Pi Cameras 5th/6th April 2021

Here is a summary of the meteors caught on our three Global Meteor Network Raspberry Pi meteor cameras last night.

Our latest Pi camera is fantastic and it detected 45 meteors! The others detected nine and eight. This little video was made with images from the Istrastream page. At the end of each night a stack of the whole night is created as well as a stack of just the meteors (the odd aircraft still gets picked up as a meteor). I've created this little blink style comparison because it's interesting to compare the whole stack with just the meteors. As well as loads of aircraft there are so many satellite trails. The blink goes through twice for each of the three cameras.

Last night, this morning was the craziest sky I've ever seen. I was out from 3:30 til sunrise. There's lots of meteor showers in the south west at that time but There were dozens and dozens of satellites and some seemed to burn brighter for a few seconds then burn out. Lots of trail blazers too from 4:15 Thanks Mary 🌠
