EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen explains the proposed new sanctions on Russia at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In recent weeks, the European Union has been moving closer to banning Russian oil, with Germany changing course to support the embargo. But many questions remain open.

i totaly agree with the guy from europe renew. Tarrif is a middle ground transition toward a embargo, it will incentives lower usage where possible or where economic substition is possible, and will keep part of the price increase in the EU. Collected money could be resend to everyone so that in the end it stay fiscaly neutral. Also, tarrif can be variable, they could be set rampant with a set timetable (like a carbon tax)

Hungary and Slovakia voted against sanctions on oil from Russia. Exceptions can be made, but the large quantities should disappear from the market.

Now, on the global pandemic where energy, medical, and food supplies are most importants for survive of the country, i think all sanction is not distrubing to russia coz they have all that resources for their people
