SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON: WHO IS KING |1 Samuel 8:4-7 and 1 Samuel 10:17–24 | October 23, 2022

WHO IS KING? The Lord is like a parent who loves their child, no matter what. Even when the child does something wrong, or is rejected by others, the parent still loves them and doesn't want to abandon them. The Lord is the same way - He loves us no matter what we do, and He doesn't want to abandon us even when we reject Him.
God is our loving father who wants what is best for us. Just like any good parent, He sometimes has to discipline us when we make bad choices. This doesn't mean He doesn't love us anymore, it just means He wants us to learn and grow so we can be happy and healthy. The Church is His way of helping us stay on the right path.

Great Lesson! God chose Saul for Israel’s first earthly king for his purpose. The word for this lesson is “King.” We know that Jesus Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Thank God for Jesus!
