Pearl Jam - Alive HQ

Показать описание
"Alive" is a song by American grunge band Pearl Jam. "Alive" was the first single from Pearl Jam, and appeared on the band's debut album, Ten, in 1991. Composed by guitarist Stone Gossard, "Alive" originated as an instrumental called "Dollar Short" and was included on a demo tape circulated in hopes of getting a singer for the band. Frontman Eddie Vedder obtained a copy of the tape and wrote a letter describing a fictional account of the time when he was told that the man he thought was his father was not really his biological father.
"Alive" reached number 16 in the UK (the single was only available through import in the U.S.). Remixed versions of the song were included on the greatest hits album Pearl Jam Rearviewmirror: Greatest Hits 1991-2003, and the reissue of the album Ten in 2009. Although the song was not a huge success after its release (with the position of number 16 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks), she endured as a favorite of fans and a staple of rock radio ever since, as one of the most requested songs the band's concerts.
