Sidney Crosby was in a bad mood as he left the game, smashing his stick against the wall after taking a slash on the glove from none other than Alex Ovechkin.

Yes it's a slash. Was it the worst we've seen? Not even close. Ovechkin has the tendency to be wreckless often, this isn't exactly one of those times. Props to Sid for coming back.. Clearly okay.

Well, he didn't lose a finger like he's done to someone else. Other players finish games with way worse injuries. You're the best player in the league and one of the highest paid. Suck it up. Greg Campbell got his leg broken and still finished his penalty kill shift. This is why people call him a crybaby.

Some people... Comparing a slash they once received in a junior hockey game or skirmish to this Crosby incident saying Crosby is a cry baby. A slight difference: the fast wrists of Ovechkin can send a puck at 80+ mph in a SNAPshot (similar movement to that slash). Ovi obviously knew exactly what he was doing (to you Ovi lovers, if the dude can find the back of the net with precision accuracy... I'm pretty sure he was aware as to where his stick was going there). Dirty yes, but meh, it's playoff hockey. It would have hurt like a bitch though. Good on Crosby for coming back and sending the Caps packing with that forecheck on the last play.

Ovechkin didn't mean to hurt him, it was just a tap. You do it to judge distance or distract the players attention. But there are weak spots on players.. just bad luck that Crosby got caught in a weak spot. Definitely not worth a penalty call imo though. But Crosby isn't faking it, I've been caught in weak spots before and I can tell you it definitely hurts.
