Gwen McCrae - 'Keep The Fire Burning' bass playalong

I heard this tune again the other day. I'd forgotten just how solid the groove is! Original bassline by Nate Watts, of course. He generally tunes down 1/2 a step, but I believe this one is down a whole step, due to the clear low D in the bridge.

Hey Huw! Twelve years ago my parents bought my first electric bass guitar as a birthday present and the first song I learned to play was The Beat Goes On, thanks to you! I'd have to check if your cover is still on Youtube but I remember it as if it was yesterday. I also fell in love with the Fender Precision you used  on that video and to this day it is my dream bass. Sadly I barely play anymore and my basses have been hanging on the wall for a couple of years now but I wanted to say that everytime I come across one of your videos is like the passion I once felt for playing music comes right back at me and it is such a wonderful feeling. I dream of the day that playing bass will feel as magical as it used to but until then I am just happy to see you keeping it up for all us. Thanks for what you do!
