The reason we don’t see him is cause during the time skip before the full bringer arc I believe he fought Zaraki and basically got humbled and since his bankai lets him basically be one with the air/environment you basically don’t see him unless he wants you too and then after losing he willingly returned to Muken to live out his sentence- so he’s prolly either in his bankai form all the time or jus chilling in a corner

This guy is confined in muken (and yeah he isn't killed by zaraki ) where aizen also resides and he is on the effect of mayuri's time slowing drug which mayuri used on szayellapro and the fact is that he is training himself for a century (in real time) and for trillions of years (due to his drug) imagine when after a century he gets back to real time (he would have easily trained himself for a trillion years 💀)

Soya azashiro the only reason he won against 7th kenpachi KURUYASHIKI is because kuruyashiki couldn't use his forbidden bankai,
even soya himself said that he would be dead if 7th kenpachi used his bankai 😂
