this oddly makes sense to me, i've been a pessimist about certain things so i would be really accurate with my project, but the feedback i got reassured my beliefs and i stopped doing it, whereas even if i don't put out as great a thing but i'm optimistic about it, i end up doing it again and again and eventually i reach that same accuracy due to the reps

When you work at a warehouse where you get punished for mistakes, you might be in a situation where you could use a little bit of wise pessimism, as well as hard working determination.

Because if you do more, you are bringing more trouble to yourself, and could still get written up.

And if you can't pay your bills you'll end up homeless.

And yes, i agree It's a poorness trap, but you have to pay the bills and not die from the stress trying to survive while being poor.

I always said optimism is fooling yourself out of trouble really a type of ignorance the hardest thing for most people in the world is to see who they are and to see what's happening around them and embedding it's happening this is where ego gets in the way we try to defend our ego and say everything is fine when we are just as screwed up as everybody else

Maybe I'm a slow moving optimist because even If I gauge my progress accurately and it sucks, I still have the perseverance to move upwards slowly if that's all I can do

Us pessimists always get a bad rap. I’m too lazy to look up the studies, but I believe it’s been shown that as long as a pessimist takes the time to prepare all the negative outcomes that might occur, they tend to do well and when you take that away from them they do badly. and optimists need to think the outcome is going to be good and then they do well . They are just different mindsets I don’t look at it as good or bad.

No. No. No. The optimists don't work hard cause they are optimistic. The most successful people are the realistic people.

Smells like confirmation bias to me. Probably just picked whatever study favored optimists

Putting on a mask seems to be the real way to social success. Until they pull into their driveways and go back to their family
