Northern Australia Correspondent Matt Cunningham says it's difficult for Penny Wong to "walk both sides" on her visit to the Middle East but she should try to make an effort to visit southern Israel.

“This misinformation that has been put out there, I mean it’s conspiracy theory stuff, trying to say that this didn't happen,” Mr Cunningham told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“It is a difficult one for the Foreign Minister … for all Labor politicians – to walk both sides, if you know what I mean.

“They have people within their own party who are very pro-Palestine and who would not want Penny Wong to be going there and siding with Israel in any way.”

Mr Cunningham sat down with Ms Credlin and Sky News host James Morrow to discuss Labor’s stance on the Israel-Hamas war.

There's only one side, not brain surgery. Labor needs to put votes last if it has any integrity.

Once again Penny Wong shows she is unfit the job she has. Yet again Penny lives up to nickname Penny Wrong!
