This Will Make You Want To Switch To Bing!

I somehow managed to get early access to the new Bing version of ChatGPT and play around with it. I tested all sorts of prompts and I'm really impressed so far. It definitely messed up a few things but, for the most part, it's really really cool.

Okay, I never thought I would say this... but my default browser is now Microsoft Edge, with Bing as my default search engine. On a Mac no less. I'm sorry I forsook you, Microsoft, please take me back! ❤

I think what I like most is that there aren't ads everywhere, its just information. Like when the internet first began. I doubt that will last.

Personally, for me, the most important feature/distinction is that this new Bing gives you the links to relevant sources of information, so that you can double-check if something feels off. That's pretty amazing.
I just wish the integration would somehow miraculously support Google Maps rather than Microsoft's maps. Of course, ain't no way Google would ever allow them that as their largest competitor, who is desperately behind in the NLP A.I. department. I've been using Chromuim Edge since its closed beta release, and I never had any significant issues with it, but getting locked further into the Microsoft ecosystem gives me strong Apple vibes, and I don't like that too much.

microsoft edge is basically chrome (uses the same engine), so may as well use it if it gives you bing chat! seems very quick, i guess it's preloading the answers to the questions in the buttons. nice.

Edge is a pretty good browser but Chrome was still my default. With Chat I may switch over to edge in general. Maybe Google needs to get a little humility. The fact that they dragged their feet on AI for the general public shows the arrogance Google has now.

The censorship power of this technology could be extremely scary. What if someone needed to research munitions or something else controversial to understand the language so I could use it in a story or a movie, script however the AI stops me from accessing the information because it deemed it too dangerous rather than letting me make the decision for myself. Whole parts of the internet may become inaccessible depending of the search engine you use and the AI restrictions they implement.

ive been using edge for over 2 years now, and its incredibly stable and useful. I dont open google chrome, opera GX or firefox anymore. Glad that Bing is really implemented in this browser

Well, a lot of them are saying that this will replace Google. But remember, Google has a larger corpus of datasets for training AI than any companies in the world, But it is because of safety concerns that Google is not open sourcing their language models. LaMDA is more powerful and larger than ChatGPT, another one is PaLM which is larger than LaMDA. So I don't think this is capable of replacing such a company like Google. They will stay where they are.

From a webmaster point of view, it is obvious that we can't create new websites nowadays with chats like that. A lot of actual websites will die soon. And only the big auhority-established websites will survive, but with less traffic and so less money. This reducing also the database that AI may use.
It is fascinating, but also terrifying

you actually missed the edge integration of bing it seems, instead of copying the urls you can just open the bing sidebar and ask the AI to summarize it or do other shenanigans
