Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade/INTERmission Worth It?

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and INTERmission released on the 10th of June, 2021 and after playing it a LOT, we've decided to condense our thoughts into a nice review to (hopefully) help any of you who are on the fence as to whether you want to purchase the game.

The ending of intermission is IMPORTANT lol. It’s mostly just setting up where everyone is but there’s quite a shock in that final cut scene at the end.

It was so worth it day one for me. Enjoyed it quite a lot and I'm ready to jump back into it this weekend. This is the Yuffie FFVII really deserves, and Suzie Yeung absolutely killed it with her performance. Great vibes all around.

The music you guys use for these videos are always incredible, it really adds weight to everything being narrated

It's not supposed to have a massive impact on the story. It's a great introduction to Yuffie that doesnt get in the way of the established narrative. Now there is a foundation and stronger motive for Yuffies pursuit of the group

I personally loved FF7R and planning to play Intergrade sooner or later....but for now I can't get my hands on a PS5!😂😭

For me FF7R is a HUGE success, why you ask? People always believe FF7 is one of the best / important video game all of time, and for this version to survive most of the criticism is a success.

I think the smartest thing would be to wait until around the time Part 2 releases to get this. By that time, hopefully, PS5s are more available, meaning that you wont pay the absurd scalpers' prices. Furthermore, playing this closer to the release of Part 2 will make it fresher in your head and maybe make Part 2 more enjoyable when you dive in.

Personally, I'm in no rush to play this.

I'm 28 and I saved some money since I learned that there was gonna be a Ps5 version and a DLC for this game. I searched for a Ps5, calling different Shopper's Drug Mart every day to see which day of the week they were more likely to receive one in store, then I called every week and after a month I found mine :) after that, I wanted to upgrade for a 58" 4k tv and got it calibrated for gaming.
I made the stakes pretty high though that fight against Weiss was epic, combat with Yuffie is mesmerizing, synergizing/dualtechs is something I wanted to experience since Advent Children, seeing Tifa in full 4k glory during combos and cutscenes is unforgettable, witnessing the new added lore for myself and not having to spoil myself or wait made it all more than worth it.
This series makes you feel good and this DLC shows just how much the devs care about this game; aerial combat is getting fixed, whispers from Yuffie's campaign aren't as much in your face as during Part 1, just a subtle easter egg and the compilation's lore is being meticulously interwoven into Remake, their attention to details is top tier.
This DLC really helped giving context for Nero and Weiss' appearance in the future and fleshed out Scarlet as a villain even more, setting her up for the Proud Clod boss fight of disc 3
I'm very eager to see how yuffie interacts with our party members and how she fights alongside Cloud and Vincent in Part 2, which I'll be ready for :)

I don't have a PS5 yet (fingers crossed 2022) but I loved the PS4 remake. I really didn't expect to because i didn't like the demo. The PS Plus said "But it's free this month" and I'll be damned if it isn't one of my favorite FF experiences I've ever had. When I got a hang of the combat finally I was hooked.

I loved the Yuffie DLC. The quality is just as high as the main game. I personally would of prefered the Yuffie Chapters be inserted into the main game as a detour kinda like how you switch to Laguna in FF8.

what do you mean is it worth? FF7 Remake is a game that is pure fan service. as a fan you are obligated to play trought the integrade DLC, dirge of cerberus and crisis core. and watch Advent Children D; to make sure Square Enix is getting payd enough so they will not quit releasing FF7 content. go preorder Rebirth as it gets available.

It would be worth it if people can actually play the game 🤣. Square made a huge error not making it available on PS4.

It's bad form to make a DLC for a game that most of the customers bought it on PS4, but make it only available for PS5 ... Especially when there are no PS5s available.

There is literally not a single reason why Intermission isn't on PS4 and it's annoying me. Most people who have FF7 Remake don't have a PS5 and are missing out.

What I like about INTERmission is how it made me appreciate Yuffie more. In OG FFVII, she was just an annoying kid, and while she's still that in Remake, we get to see other aspects that make her character more endearing.
