I was in my 50's when I first heard of capers in cooking, it was an episode of Star Trek Next Generation and Chief O'Brien was arguing with his wife about putting capers in his eggs. I've been putting capers in my scrambled eggs ever since and use them in a lot of other dishes too now.

Growing up in New England in the 50's & 60's we had the"'dippy" soft-boiled eggs frequently for breakfast..and my older brother was absofragginposilutively addicted to cinnamon-sugar-butter toast.

I love recreating the recipes I find on these channels. Some have been really great, lots of them I can safely say were forgotten for good reason. 😅

I would not have gotten through high school without Instant Breakfast. I liked sleep more than breakfast! These days I make breakfast for dinner often, maybe even tonight.

Anyone else remember Whip n Chill pudding? Yoplait makes yogurt with a similar texture.
I used to make “eggnog” with Vanilla Alba powder, milk, and nutmeg. Yum!

I LOVED Maypo!! Reminds me of breakfast with my grandpa, a bowl of Maypo with toasted Roman Meal bread and homemade sandplum jelly, around 1967 or 1968 😊

As a child, I refused all cold cereal, oatmeal, and cream of wheat.
The only breakfast porridge that I would eat was Wheatena😂
