Why is the RTX 4090 so powerful?
The main focus: clock speeds. The RTX 3090 Ti topped out at around 1.8GHz, but the RTX 4090 showcases the efficiency of the new node with a 2.52GHz boost clock. That's with the same board power of 450 watts, but it's running on more cores.

Is 4090 overkill for gaming?
Again, if you're using a 1080p monitor — even one with an extreme refresh rate — the RTX 4090 will almost certainly be overkill. That's less true if you're playing games with lots of ray tracing effects, but we'll get to that in a moment.

The Intel Core i9-13900K is an incredible, breathtaking CPU, and clearly the current top dog on the m;arket. But as much as it's worth buying, and as much as you probably want one, the chances are it's not the best buy for you. Whether it be single-core or multi-core, gaming or rendering, nothing phases it.

Is the 13900K overkill for gaming?
Intel's 13900KS is a high-end CPU, one that certainly would be considered overkill for gaming, as most games do not require the level of performance it offers. A more moderate or budget-friendly CPU would likely be sufficient for the pastime.
