50th GST Council Meeting | 28% GST on Online Gaming #upsc #nextias

The 50th meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council was held. Bets and wagers made on online gaming, casinos and horse racing will attract a 28 % GST. GST on uncooked/unfried snack pellets is reduced to 5 %. Food and beverages consumed in cinema halls will attract a GST of 5 %. GST is exempted on import of cancer drug Dinutuximab, medicines used to treat rare diseases, and food used in Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP).
