Great video Lars, exactly what i was looking for. Been working on a Helmet project for a few years now and I struggled with trying to get the curvature of the back side of the helmet. With a few of your vidies i was able to take cell phone pictures of top down and side profiles (two different curves) of the helmet and import them into fusion. This allowed me to trace the curves of any helmet i choose and get something close to the actual helmet curve to creat my base..

Fast forward 8 months later and i found out a tool actually exists for capturing curvatures called a "contour gauge" allowing me to physically place the contour gauge on the helmet, capture the curvature and trace it on to paper and import that traced image into fusion giving me a more precise fitting base model to work from.

What i have difficulty with was creating a sketch model surface from these 2 now hand drawn angles (top/down and side to side) so i could extrud from. Im still having trouble with this because the sculpt environment is something im new to.

Can you show us a way to do this? Take a 4 point drawing that resembles a plus sign (+) thats curved like the helmet on one side and create a sculpture from which i can pull into a flat surface on the opposite side giving me an even base to build upon.

Maybe lofting from the sketch scultpted curvature surface to a square, creating a flat table surface to which i can place "things" on.

Wouldn’t it be easier and more accurate to draw a solid and cut it with the combinetool using the helmet as tool?

Thank you for your great tutorials! I'm interested in 3d printing and I wander if is possible to make a tutorial about generating 3d model of a simple house by importing dxf plans of the house and generating the 3d model, including at least one window and one door, roof etc. Thank you very much!
