One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I've loved a girl for 9 years now and I'm still madly in love with her, she's my best friend, the only person who makes me feel at home. I've always been gentle and patient with her and in her ways she has shown me how much she appreciates all that I've done for her, sometimes she hints that she has feelings for me and cares for me, but she also says she's too much for me to handle and I deserve better, and any girl would be happy to have a man like me in their life. Unfortunately she's probably moving far away, we'll part ways. This song reminds me of her. Angus sings, "I'll taste the devil's tears but I'll never give up you". He's saying the tears of the devil represents sadness, innocence and desire. But he knows the devil is not innocent, and all his desires are of evil evil intentions, but he will still let the devil sway him into committing sins, he will go through all of that but deep inside his heart he will always treasure his relationship with the girl he lost, he will only ever love that one special person. The sins could mean perhaps other women, I've had the opportunity to give many amazing women a chance, but still I only think about her all day. It's the constant reminiscence of old memories with I share with her, the tightness around my heart every time I think of her, it's so agitating. That's why I love this song so much, I can connect with it on deep level, it provokes thoughts I would rather avoid. That brief fleeting moment of happiness that comes with every memory I have of her and the eternal pain that they leave me with. No matter how much the devil tries to persuade me, I'll only stay loyal to her, "I'll taste the devil's tears, but I'll never give up you."
