As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensifies its counterattack on allegations of Adani bribery by linking Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to the American billionaire activist George Soros, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju described Sonia Gandhi's alleged ties to Soros as a "serious" concern, urging unity among political parties against so-called “anti-India forces.” The BJP claims Sonia Gandhi's Rajiv Gandhi Foundation partnered with the Soros-funded Open Society Foundations, citing this as evidence of foreign influence on Indian organizations. The saffron party also highlighted Soros' statement on the Adani controversy, accusing him of attempting to "weaken Indian democracy" and promote a government led by his “hand-picked” individuals.
