You're so right doc. When I see people at least in FL. on motorcycles and other things without protective head gear I think of the line: freedom's just another word for everything left to lose. Thx. for the public service.

Wow
This is how my Father lived & felt as his illness progressed gradually for 14 years until his death at 45. He had MS which looks nothing like what it did in the mid 50s to mid 60s. Neither do some of the healthcare facilities as there was no regulation. He was a perfectionist with a beautiful young wife & 2 young children. I was not born yet. He served in the Navy in WW2 Pearl Harbor when we were bombed.
They resided in PA & all the physicians knew was he would become completely disabled slowly loosing his ability to walk from crutches to wheelchair to bed bound til death. They knew to tell him to get to the warmest climate possible. They did. It was chronic & our home eventually resembled a hospital to provide for him.
He passed when I was 10.
My Mom was a saint! It was a long haul.
I still miss them both so much. 🙏

This breaks my heart. 😥😫
My daughter got in a wreck when she was 21 about 12 years ago and has been paralyzed from waist down since. We have no means of getting her rehabilitated so my hands are tied. This breaks my heart to actually feel what it's like to not be able to move your body hard as you may try.

I experienced Bell’s Palsy awhile ago, whereby the nerves from your ear canal that supply your face become blocked; usually due to an ear infection. Half of my face was paralyzed, and I had no feeling or movement for a couple of weeks. It didn’t panic me because I understood the condition, but it gave me a deeply personal understanding of what paralysis feels like.

Yes, it's just like that.
While hospitalized and recovering from cervical spine surgery, I awoke one morning paralyzed from the neck down. I had been given an overdose of baclofen. Thankfully, I could still breathe and it wore off after a few hours

You’re right and when you can move a little bit it feels like pins and needles… like your fort is asleep… except up and down the leg with pain shooting up periodically. Very uncomfortable
