Ich warte auf dich! ... Willy Berking mit seinem Orchester (1943)

Starting with "Frauen sind doch bessere Diplomaten" (Lit. Women are better diplomats after all) Franz Grothe composed the music for all of the musicals Marika Rökk starred in before the end of the War. The most lavish of these is "Die Frau meiner Träume" (The woman of my dreams) made in 1943/44. Shot in soft Agfacolor the movie featured the songs "In der Nacht ist der Mensch nicht gern' alleine" (Lit. One does not want to be alone at night), "Mach dir nichts daraus" (Lit. Don't worry about that) and "Ich warte auf dich" (Lit. I'll wait for you) which is featured in this video in version by Willy Berking and his orchestra. The song is heard in various variations in the musical finale of "Die Frau meiner Träume". All musical numbers and even the complete movie can be found on YouTube.

According to some sources "Die Frau meiner Träume" was one of the first confiscated German movies shown in the USSR where it achieved cult status and contributed to Marika Rökk's popularity in the former Soviet Union.
