I hit cuts. I hit draws. I even top the ball. When I shoot 100+ I use all of my arsenal.

Play your natural shot shape with your long irons/driver. Short irons and wedges aim exactly where you want it to go.

It depends on the course and wind direction. The Old White is pretty straight, so you can hit draws off the tee on every hole.

Most important thing I do as a scratch amateur is make a repeatable swing, regardless of fade or draw.

I’ve always wondered this too. Like so many course holes never require shot shaping, unless you hit it in the trees or something like that. 99% of the time, if you just hit straight, it would be fine.

I shot a 50 the other day and 55 on the back 9 I also combined every shot shape in the book for that round I guess versatility is important to me, not everyone can do it tho

It doesn't take versatility when you can just bomb it over the hazards. But if you can't muscle your way through a course meaning hitting 320 or shot shaping, can massively help some of the best golfers in the world and most amateurs in a wide variety of situations.

I have naturally been able to hit a draw with my irons. I would play a fade/cut with my driver but that could turn nasty. This year I bought a new driver and have set it up to be draw bias. I couldn’t be happier.

My cuts are slices fades duck hooks or complete left lazers.
Bottom line. I try and stay away from cuts too.

Bingo. Zero cuts is my motto 😂. When I cut the ball it is usually by accident but usually works out well😂. Agree w Bryson play to your strengths
