It shows that he's not _that_ heartless. If he wanted to kill the pups, he would have done that when he had a chance

Around 1:33, it showed an example of when Shere Khan was telling a story to the pups, he pointed out how Raksha loved a pup that wasn't her own

It was interesting that in this adaptation Mowgli leaving to head to the man village with Bagheera indirectly make the conflict worse cause it caused Shere Khan to murder Akela as revenge for letting Mowgli leave and he takes over the wolf pack as a result. And Shere Khan is indirectly what allowed Mowgli to meet Baloo due to his encounter with Kaa cause he separated Bagheera from Mowgli when he attacked back at the buffalo field.

in this scene, Shere khan are some good sides to the cruel side.

Kinda reminds of when Negan was holding Judith for the first time!

I love The Jungle Book 2016 my favorite live action film by Jon Favreau.

This scene, while pretty much a parallel between the scene from Gladiator where Commodus threatens his sister by telling Lucius a story, also used an element from the book: in the book, Shere Khan let younger wolves eat scraps from his kills, which Akela would have never allowed. Additionally, in the book, while doing that, Shere Khan would gaslight the young wolves into thinking that Akela was a bad leader for letting Mowgli live among them.

I find it ironic that even though they’re made by the same person, these animals in this movie show more facial expressions than the animals in the Lion King remake.

Why does this reminds me the scene in Gladiator where Commodus threaten his sister by telling his nephew a story ?

Shere Khan is not being a cool uncle. He is indirectly insulting Raksha and attempting to turn the pups away from her.

At least he’s trying to take on a more positive role as leader of the wolf pack he’s trying to be the cool uncle instead of the strict harsh disciplinarian who would constantly yell at the kids scare them and not let them play it’s obvious there like him to some extent since they’re hanging with him

Everyone sees Mufasa as the hero and Shere khan as the Vilain but the reality is totally different only brainless imature kids can’t understand the meaning of jungle book movie, mufasa fought and died protecting his family but sher khan tried to protect the entire animal kingdom in jungle, the entire jungle from humans cause he knew what danger can a human be to nature and experienced it once, jungle book is much more interesting, mature and realistic moovie and not as childish like lion king movie which is also a great movie but for kids .
