I've been a pad player all my life simply because I am a pleeb, however I recently upgraded to a _fight_ pad, the Hori Fighting Commander for the Xbone. The lack of analog sticks, triggers, and other gimicks along with the fatass face buttons has actually made me a better fighting game player; for some reason hitting the buttons is super satisfying so I hit them a little hard, which has made my button discipline much higher because I mash less, in addition to two more face buttons it's just really nice.

Maybe someday I'll proper upgrade to a fightstick, who knows.

I love my astro controller, it is absolutely amazing, all of the options that u have with the app as well as on the fly without the app by button presses, mixed with the accessories has been the best i.m.o.

I am for sure a pad warrior. I only use PS4/PS3 pad to play fighting games. I bought a super cheap arcade stick years ago, but I never got into it, then I let a classmate borrow it and he forgot to give it back before summer.

Also shout outs to the editor, he did a great job in this vid.

It’s a 50/50 for me. It all depends on the game of course capcom fighters and other Japanese fighters I use sticks, but pads for certain games like mk and dbzfighterz

I hd thought this might be perfect if only it wasn't wireless. Now I know it connects via dongle, which means it's wired so long as you don't use the dongle. No need to remove the battery. One day I'll have snag this!

While I am not great at fighting games, as an enthusiast, I prefer pads to sticks for button lay out but the joystic and d-pad are are always the weak link. I'm interested to see how this controller feels in hand. I think the xbox pro controller has a very nice d pad for fighting games IMO.

"360 pad goodness"
I distinctly remember having to take my original 360 pad apart and grind off parts of it to make the body stop interfering with the D-pad.
Talking about the later model with the conversion pad or something?
