A lot of farmers around us are leaving a disk and tractor in the fields they're harvesting specifically for fires that break out. Use them to make a quick fire break before it gets out of hand.

Good luck chaps, for those who are asking why, remember it could be your field of crops next!!

My neighbor caught the bean field on fire back in September when there was a high wind warning out. Thank God it was just beans, and had a little time to get a disk hooked up and cut in front of the fire before it could get to my acreage. If it was corn, who knows if they could've stopped it. Fire department was nearly helpless against the high wind and virtually zero humidity. God bless common sense to get tillage equipment on standby after that.

I don't think most people realize how dangerous harvest was this year. Truly surprised there wasn't a lot more fires.

Happened last year by us. I don’t think viewers understand how fast it spreads in corn. It got a hold of 30 acres in 10 minutes

Grain-field fires are an actual nightmare scenario once they get good and dry like that. A spark or a careless ember and a decent wind is all it takes to get one going. Forests aren’t the only environments that have to worry about wildfires.

Honestly, this is probably the funniest thing I’ve watched.

For anyone dealing with any sort of fire be careful. Can get out of hand very quickly my best friend is on the local fire department, field fires are one of the worst. Everything is super dry and easily flammable. Grain dust can be very dangerous even when stuff is just hot let alone a field fire next to you

Lots are prevented with grease and an air hose.

This year, I smelt burning rubber which put the family on high alert and a 3/4's of a mile down the road the smell got extremely bad and a combine was smoking because of an over-heated bearing in a winter rye field, so the fire department was called.

Seems like fires in fields are happening multiple times a year lately.😑
