Loved this show! To this day, every Thanksgiving, my family and I still send each other the YT clip of Mr. Carlson saying, “As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”… ❤

I just loved Bailey. The show was very funny, but Bailey made it even more fun for me to watch. Jan Smithers was just a really pretty girl.

The show ran from 1978-1982. At the time UHF TV went up to channel 83. It was in 1983 that the UHF spectrum was changed and channels 70-83 were removed. So, channel 71 mentioned in the show would've been correct at the time.

This show really should’ve lasted longer! It was fantastic!

I loved the show.... The turkey drop was great, but i also enjoyed the surreal thoughts of the concert give away, where a fan died in the leaving of the concert. It showed that WKRP was not afraid to look at some ofthe negative sides. Also, the paster that wanted to restrict certain songs, and the funeral home plugs that were stopped. In them two, it showed that Mr. Carlson was not just a bumbling fool.

Love the turkey show of course, but my next favorite is when Jennifer calls Herb's bluff and invites him to her place for dinner. Totally hysterical!

My wife worked for a printing company that printed the University of Cincinnati’s basketball poster that she designed. It was on the side of Les Newsman’s desk one year and the next year’s design was on the side of the teletype machine. Two years, two different posters.

Always had a hunch that the wKRP, was a synonym for "krap"... Great show on TV, which we sadly don't get much anymore.

I love the show WKRP in Cincinnati. I watched all of the seasons when they were being first broadcast. It was such a fun show, and a great lead out of the depressing 1970's shows from years before this show came into being. The only way someone would have noticed these incorrect details is if the were training to be a movie Gaffer, or binge watching entire runs of episodes back to back nowadays. Stop sucking the joy out of fun shows. This show was at the top of the comedy genre when it was running.

David Cassidy was offered the part of Johnny Fever but turned it down.
Heart Of Glass by Blondie was first played on the show and became popular as a result.
Venus showcased the quiet storm format first as well. He was so cool and suave!

The actor who played Herb graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, which is why he almost always had an Arkansas Razorbacks cup/mug on his desk (visible at 7:17).

Thanks for creating this. I have watched the DVDs several times and noticed the palm trees and Les's wedding ring.

Had a huge crush on Gary Sandy back then, but the most humor came from Les Nessman who always felt he should've been given an office. Love the episode where there's a glitch switching between tapes, and it comes out "And it's down the drain...with Les Nessman!"

Great show I used to watch I met GordonJump once at an airshow in Dayton Ohio. A very nice man.

See, you can do very well when you want to. Stay away from material that is salacious and prurient; it coursened society and degrades us all. We all should try to leave this world better than we found it. This was enlightening and fun. That is a great formula to follow.
