The Marvel Super Heroes was an animated series and the first TV series based on Marvel characters. It debuted in syndication in September of 1966. The series was made up of segments featuring one of five Marvel characters. Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man or The Sub-Mariner. Each segment was around seven minutes long and series ran initially as a half-hour program made up of three segments. Sixty-five half hour episodes were produced for a total of 195 individual segments. The series is well known for its extremely limited animation consisting of photocopied images taken directly from the comics and manipulated to minimize the need for animation production. The cartoons were presented as a series of static comic-strip panel images. Generally the only movement involved the lips when a character spoke, the eyes, and the occasional arm or leg or a fully animated black silhouette.

This video, although perfectly suitable for children, is not intended for current children. It is meant for adults who were children when the television show originated. My intent is to preserve or refresh the memories of childhoods from the past and offer some enjoyable nostalgia.
