Dr. Clevens | Can Blepharoplasty get rid of crows feet?

Показать описание
I'm often asked if blepharoplasty can get rid of crow's feet. The answer is no. I think it is a commonly held misconception that eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty improves crow's feet. Upper eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty addresses the excess skin in tissue in the upper eyelid. It creates a sharper and more youthful appearing upper eyelid crease.
However, the crow's feet, the wrinkles that we have towards the sides of our eyes are not due to excess skin, they're due to wrinkling of the skin. Blepharoplasty your eyelids heard you will not improve the crow's feet, instead to improve crow's feet we look towards a procedure such as Laser Skin Resurfacing which erases wrinkles, refinishes the skin and revitalizes the skin.
Oftentimes, when I'm performing blepharoplasty either upper or lower eyelid surgery, I will perform laser skin resurfacing around the eyes to treat both the crêpes crow's feet and to treat the creepiness of the lower eyelid skin. Another option temporary and the improvement of crow's feet would be to employ botox or dysport or xeomin to improve the crow's feet but this would be temporary. This would last only about three months as compared with laser skin resurfacing which would last for many years. I hope this helps you sort out whether eyelid surgery and blepharoplasty influence the appearance of crows feet.
