Masi is very famous delicacy in Cebu with 3 simple ingredients, so easy to prepare! Using Glutinous flour
with peanuts and sugar filling..so delicious! Pwede rin pagkakitaan..😊
Ingredients:
1 cup glutinous rice flour + 1 1/2 tbsp - P12
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp sugar, optional
For filling
1/4 - 1/3 cup muscovado sugar - P5
1/4 - 1/3 cup peanuts - P8
Plastic cling wrap - P5

Total cost - P30
Makes 17 masi balls
You can sell it P 4-5 each
Procedure
- Mix glutinous flour and water until forms a dough
- Prepare the filling, mix crushed peanuts and sugar in a bowl
- Brush plate with oil
- Scoop 1/2 tbsp or 1 tbsp mixture
- Add more glutinous flour if it’s too wet and sticky
- Roll in your hands and form into a ball, then press the center to make space for fillings
( You can put a little oil to your hands to avoid sticking )
- Put 3/4 tsp filling
- fold the sides to cover the filling then pinch to seal, roll and form into a ball
- Boil water in a pot
- Drop each balls, wait until all masi floats to the surface
- Then cook for another 5 mins...to make sure the sugar filling is melted nicely
- Remove from pot, transfer into a plate don’t forget to put some oil to avoid sticking
- Put masi separately in a plate so they will not sticks together
- Wrap each masi with cling wrap
- Makes 17-18 masi
- Done! Enjoy!
Steaming Process
Same ingredients
Don’t forget to brush oil your plate or banana leaf
Steam for 10- 15 minutes..
Makes 8-9 masi using 1 tbsp..
