Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (Leppardized Guitar Cover)

Heavily requested track but certainly not one I begrudged in playing along with as I'd love to be in a wedding band just to play stuff like this! Written by the hitmaker Diane Warren and my first Starship cover to feature Grace on vocals, although I have covered another from this album but I think she's just on backing. Mickey of course sounding great too and there's some videos of him doing this track in the 90's, doing both parts, and he sounds great. I've added a couple of guitar parts here and there in the verses to mix it up a bit, but not much else. Hope you enjoy! :)

'Leppardized' is my way of adding interesting guitar parts to a song that has little to no guitar in it, in an attempt to make it more like the Hysteria era of Def Leppard. Although really it is just an excuse for me to play over pop. :)

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.

Again my dude you bring it with a classic 80's cover. I love the Def Leppard touch you put on some of these - it makes them so good! Your version of "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis is IMO way better than the original. Now every time I hear it on Sirus XM I have to turn it off and listen to yours lol. Oh wow, belated thanks for covering this requested song of mine!

As I recall the story, the vocals on this track changed during the recording sessions, with Grace originally trying to do the higher parts and Mickey the lower parts. It just wasn't working, so they swapped vocal parts, and it sounded much better. And thus, a banger single--in a year full of bangers--was born.
