A lot of trans people interpret “straight” to mean not queer/LGBT+; stating her experience as trans was likely in response to the implication at the start of Arti’s question. Inquiring about options such as heterosexual, gay, bi, etc. are more sexuality-specific in the trans community. I probably would have answered the same as her as a pan woman of trans experience.
