What will the world look like in 2100?

When thinking about the future, the point is to consider what can or might happen and try to steer the reality in the desired direction through our actions.

Future thinking allows us to identify the different possibilities and alternative realities offered to us by the future, so we can choose the one we like the most and try to build that future. Future thinking is the first step towards future building.

Scenarios and forecasts are more powerful tools than predictions. They are not exact predictions, and it is understood that they may not happen as explained, but they allow us to get a glimpse of what different futures we might get to live in.

People in the 1920s predicted we'd have balloon-supported lake walking by 2000, so no one can predict the future for sure. Having said that, I'm going to throw my guess in the pot:
The human race will still be around. We'll likely have to move inland, and some coastal cities like Miami will be completely destroyed. Countries like Bangladesh which already experience seasonal flooding will probably face massive, horrific natural disasters that will create millions of refugees. No one superpower will rule the world. America will continue to be around and will have a "sphere of influence" consisting of the modern West and some Pacific countries like Japan, Australia, and a reunified Korea, but China will control most of continental Asia, and Russia, India, and maybe some Islamic Caliphate will step up to the plate as major rivals. Africa will become much more significant on the world stage, as it will be home to an enormous chunk of the world population. Technology will improve by then and we might even enjoy commercial space travel, however, I still think only the very rich will be able to afford it. Advances in medical technology and green energy will make certain parts of the world more pleasant, but the damage from Climate Change will already have been done. All in all I think the future will be better than where we started, with some caveats.
